When it comes to the best putters on the market, there are many options. Obviously, there are many putter designs, but there are also many manufacturers, and TaylorMade is one of the most recognized manufacturers in the flat club department. We’ve tested many models from the brand over the years and three specific, well-tested designs are indeed part of the Spider GT line – the Rollback, Notchback and Splitback putters. In fact, these models are also currently on sale during Amazon Prime Day. Get up to 28% off putters for under $200, which is a solid deal for a putter of this quality. (Speaking of which, be sure to check out our post on the best Amazon Prime Day golf deals).
First things first; the above models all come in a variety of different sizes, lengths and angles, which means there should be the perfect setup for your golf game and putting stroke.
Starting with the Rollback, all three putters feature a mallet design. It’s ideal for players looking for a big mallet with solid alignment and off-center hit tolerance. This is also the one we have seen in Collin Morikawa’s bag.
The Notchback is similar, but it has dual tungsten weights, which are meant to help distribute weight across the back and sides of the putter. That means plenty of forgiveness and stability, which will appeal to most golfers.

There’s also the TaylorMade Splitback, which is arguably the best-feeling putter in the Spider GT line. It uses the same perimeter weighting design as the standard TaylorMade Spider GT putter, with most of the weight of the clubhead on the wings on either side. The standard GT has an aluminum cover over the gap between the wings, while the GT Splitback is an open mallet style with a white cavity back with black lines to aid alignment. It also features a Pure Roll 2 insert that helps create a strong roll and a solid feel.
For more in-depth information on each putter, our specific reviews follow. What we do know is that given the performance of these putters, the current sale on Amazon is excellent, and you can get up to 28% off these designs, which is a snap if you need a new flat putter.
