Rory McIlroy has long been one of the best hitters on the PGA Tour. Known in the golf world for his prodigious driving stats, he currently leads the PGA Tour in total driving distance, with his longest driving distance of the season at 388 yards. While the Northern Irishman has certainly put a lot of work into improving his swing and power, his impressive ability with big clubs is partly down to the clubs he uses. Like many other golfers on tour, he chose to use the TaylorMade Stealth 2 Plus driver. This is one of the newest and most exciting clubs released in recent years, and it’s currently 14% off during Amazon Prime Day – one of the Amazon Prime Day golf deals, and I believe it’s the lowest I’ve ever owned Price to see this driver.

It’s an updated version of TaylorMade’s excellent Stealth Plus driver released in 2022. After rigorous testing, we found this to be an excellent all-round model, ideal for any player looking for a tight but not intimidating tee option. It’s one of the best golf clubs on the market right now, and its premium gloss black and red aesthetic certainly stands out.

The new model also has redder carbon wood panels. The face is two grams lighter than its predecessor and features “Inverted Cone Technology,” which TaylorMade claims helps improve forgiveness. In fact, we’ve noticed this on the golf course as well. The face has a powerful feel at impact, and while it’s a little soft, we think many will still appreciate the snappy feel of this driver.

Compared to the original, the 2023 model performs well and offers higher clubhead and ball speeds, but does have a slower launch than the Stealth Plus. It also travels slightly longer, but the overall distance between the two drivers is fairly similar. With all of this in mind, it’s no surprise that McIlroy is using this driver, and it’s nice to see that there’s now a new club that’s as good as this one for nearly $100 off. It’s worth mentioning that there are left-handed and right-handed models available, with different shafts and different lofts.
